I am the W. Maurice Young (1961) Career Development Associate Professor of Management and an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management. I am affiliated with the Operations Research Center and MIT IBM Watson AI Lab. Before joining MIT, I spent a year as a postdoctoral fellow at Google Research in New York where I worked with the Market Algorithm team to develop, design, and test new mechanisms and algorithms for online marketplaces. My current research revolves around advancing digital marketplaces—such as e-commerce, online advertising, and emissions trading systems—by designing and implementing data-driven strategies and algorithmic innovations. I aim to create more resilient, equitable, and sustainable digital ecosystems.
I gratefully acknowledge support from the Young Investigator Program at ONR, a Google Faculty Award, MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, the Liberty Mutual Insurance, MIT Indonesia Seed Funds, and MIT Research Support Committee (RSC) award. I am currently serving as an associate editor for the Operations Research (OR), Production and Operations Management (POM), Operations Research Letters (ORL), and Naval Research Logistics (NRL) journals. Here are links to my CV and Google Scholar page.
To Prospective Students: I am always excited to hear from prospective students who are interested in my research and eager to explore new ideas in the field. If you are passionate about machine learning and online decision making for digital marketplaces, I encourage you to apply to the Operations Research Center (ORC) here and list my name in your application. After you get admitted to MIT, please reach out to me directly.
